Semiconductor company ASML has a brand new building in San Jose, and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Clean lines, modern materials, open work environments and bold splashes of color make it look like a truly futuristic workplace. Here are some of the panoramic interior photos I created of the space during a weekday evening: Recent “Architecture Photography” Posts:

I was hired to shoot architectural interior and exterior photos of Fogo de Chao’s newest location at Santana Row in San Jose, California. There are several challenges to this spot – it’s on a high traffic location (both foot traffic from the mall and cars from the main roads), it has a stoplight and streetlight right in […]

The photos below are from a multi-day shoot with Sundance the Steakhouse – the goal being to create a revamped website for the restaurant with lots of killer, fresh visual content. Over the course of three separate shoots, we shoot plated dishes, portraits of owners Galen and Aaron, photos of the staff, behind-the-scenes action in the […]

For this architectural interior photo shoot at ICHI Sushi, I had to arrive well after closing time so the place could be cleaned up and made photo ready. The main reason for this is because the main windows to the street bring in a lot of natural light, but not so much that the interior […]

These are a few photos from my third commercial photo shoot at Stonebrae Country Club in the East Bay Hills of Hayward. Today we focused on the pool area, snack shop, exercise rooms, tennis courts and some behind-the-scenes kitchen shots with Executive Chef Aaron Johnson. Below are a few of my faves from this session. From the unlabeled, nondescript gray door entrance on Geary, you’d never know there was an epic underground lounge waiting 2 minutes from the sidewalk. Although I photographed the interiors on off-hours, when Hawthorn Lounge was closed, I could really appreciate the lavish decor, dark (yet brilliant) ambience, and the spare-no-expense sound system and general details. Enjoy some of […]

These photos are from an ongoing commercial project with Stonebrae TPC – a country club + golf course located in the East Bay hills of Hayward, California. The photos below are from a proof-of-concept session and a second shoot a few days later. The goal was to capture different interior spaces as well as the exterior property […]

Roy’s needed some new interiors highlighting the different layout options they have for (semi) private-dining parties, and since we’ve worked successfully in the past together, they chose me for yet another restaurant interior photo shoot! Since I was there, I went ahead and shot the whole restaurant (it’s amazing if you haven’t been there!). Mostly […]

This is a historical log cabin residence built in the 1930s along West Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz. It’s not a big house, but you can’t beat the view, and the rustic interior is charming. These are multiple exposure HDR photos I took of the interior area of Stanford’s newest dining hall. Many photographers overdo the HDR “look” – I try to make it look as natural as possible, without showing excess detail in the shadows and highlights. My goal is to have architectural photos look as my eye sees […]

I had an ambitious morning shoot with Charlie Hong Kong, shooting food, kitchen action, and the content of this post – the location and details. There’s some really neat muralist design/artwork on the walls, and the location itself is iconic for the Santa Cruz area. The poster board is a favorite resource for locals to […]

The Hyatt rebranded one of their hotels in Santa Clara and called me up to get some architectural photos of it. I showed up a little before sunset, and stayed until a little after to get that nice light us photographers always look for. Luckily there were clouds in the sky to add some visual […]

Pasta Pomodoro is under new ownership and is completely remodeling the look of their restaurants – starting with the flagship store on California Ave. in San Francisco. There was a brief window of time between when the restaurant was being polished with the new look and when they needed to reopen for business. Luckily I […]

The newly redecorated ballrooms at The Fairmont Hotel San Jose are ideal venues for enormous (and more intimate) corporate events and weddings. The Imperial Ballroom is simply gigantic (13,000 square feet / 1,150 – 1,400 guests), and this evening it was actually split into two separate rooms (the red and blue pictures). Even split up, […]

Carolyn and Jalil, owners of Paolo’s Restaurant in downtown San Jose, needed some professional photos showing how their banquet space could be decorated for an event. If you’re familiar with my blog, you’ve probably seen photos I’ve taken at Kaama Lounge before. They’ve made some changes to the look of the exterior and interior, plus have added a lunch menu, indian buffet style. Here’s a few shots I took of the interior – it was pouring outside so there wasn’t much […]

I don’t shoot a lot of real estate photography. Ok, well I shot this beach house recently. And of course this really, really sexy mansion in Portola Valley, but mostly it’s not something I’m asked to do much. Maybe I’m too expensive, I don’t know. But it’s fun, and waaaay easier than chasing toddlers around […]

Franco Uomo’s got a brand new bag – or rather, clothing store – at Santana Row. It’s called San Francisco Shirt Company, and it’s hot. In fact, they’re having a fashion show on December 16, 2010 to celebrate the grand opening of the new store, and I have a few photographs to show you blog […]
