Ed needed some casual shots of himself in a variety of outfits. Luckily he lives across the street from our destination – the always lovely Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. Most of the shots were pretty tight, so I didn’t incorporate much of the wide architectural shots I sometimes employ for engagement sessions at this location. It’s important for subjects to feel comfortable with me, so I try to engage in conversation as much as possible to keep the focus off my big cameras and lighting equipment. I know it’s totally intimidating, especially out in public where spectators are a given, and Ed did a great job for the hour or so that we spent taking pictures. He’s a great guy, and I hope some of the photos are usable for him. Here’s a few of my favorites:
