Back in May, I got together with Gutter Patrol owners Eric and Amanda Branecki to create a truly unique postcard for their window-cleaning service. I had this idea to go extreme with the visual message of dirty windows, and luckily they loved the idea and went with it. Needless to say it was one of their most successful postcard campaigns ever! This set the bar high for this fall’s postcard.
We kicked around a few ideas – we wanted to keep a similar theme – extreme, yet humorous and communicating a clear message about the services offered. We decided to dress Amanda up like an old lady (yes she’s very pregnant as well but you can’t tell in the pics), hiring the talented makeup artist Shawn Cavlan to help with the aged look. Amanda had been scouring Good Wills for weeks collecting the necessary accoutrement for the shoot. Check out the process of the shoot over here. When Amanda was sufficiently transformed, she carefully climbed up the ladder we’d secured to start cleaning the dirty gutters we’d prepared. She’s clearly not enjoying the dirty work, especially after her husband Eric started creating the hollywood rain-effect with the water hose!
Here’s the shot we chose for the front of the postcard, as well as the final postcard design:
